        Milk is known as complete food. We all know how milk is beneficial for us in many ways. By drinking milk we  get more energy.It is an ideal food. We get it from our domestic animals such as cows, buffaloes, goats and sheeps etc. It has fat, protein, calcium, many vitamins and minerals which are essential for the growth of the human bones and organs. It is very necessary for the little babies. It has all the elements of a good food. Drinking milk is quite good for our health. Presence of calcium and protein make milk a more energy producer than potable drink. Calcium makes our bones strong and protein helps in building blocks of bones and muscles. We need milk for tea and coffee also. There are many types of uses of milk. In our Hindu culture milk is also used in worship in every festival. Different types of sweets are produced by milk; these sweets are used in every function, festivals and other programs. Whey, curd, butter and cheese are also made from milk. In Indian culture festivals are incomplete without sweets and most of the sweets are possible from milk. Basically from a human point of view milk is so much useful and also it is good for our health. But nowadays milk is not pure when it comes in the market for selling. Much quantities of water are mixed in milk and we do not get proper calcium, protein, minerals and other vitamins. 


    Health benefits of drinking milk :-
    

     We all know that milk is quite good for our health. In milk we got a lot of calcium, protein and vitamins. 


Calcium : Milk is the best source of calcium for our body. Calcium protects our bodies from bone loss. 


Vitamin D : Vitamin D actually helps the body absorb calcium. Therefore almost all milk produced within the United States has been fortified with 100 to 200 IU of vitamin D. It promotes bone growth and reduces the risk of brittle bones.


Healthy Bones : There are three main factors that contribute to healthy, strong bones. Genetics, physical activity, and proper calcium intake. With one eight ounce serving of milk providing 290 mg of milk it is an excellent source of calcium. You can also offer a serving low fat cheese which boasts 204 mg of calcium. 


Healthy teeth : Encouraging young children to drink milk will result in great dental health. Milk protects the enamel surface against acidic substances. 


Rehydration : Milk contains a good amount of water molecules so it helps in keeping the body hydrated. Especially for children who are constantly active and running around it is important to stay hydrated. 


Right time to drink milk :-


      Drinking  milk in the morning can lead to indigestion and bloating. However people who are trying to gain weight or build muscle can drink milk in the morning. But the best time to drink milk is in the evening or before bedtime because in the evening milk contains enzymes that help in inducing sleep. Milk is a source of Tryptophan, an essential amino acid, which means it is not produced by the human body. Tryptophan is a precursor for serotonin a neurotransmitter which is converted to melatonin, both are known to enhance sleep and relaxation of the brain but this drinking session is only for adults. Kids can drink milk in the morning. 


Don't drink milk in this way :-


1)  Don't consume milk in very cold form. When you boil milk the present structure of molecules changes and that is beneficial for us. So always drink boiled milk that is good for our health. 


2)  Don't consume milk with salty food because the combination of salt and milk is poisonous. The presence of sodium in salt mixed with calcium, sodium does not allow the milk to curdle. Breakout of milk is necessary.


3)  Don't consume milk with any other source of complete  protein. Milk is a complete source of protein and it is dangerous to consume milk with other sources of protein such as eggs etc . and others. Even when you have milk and other sources of protein at least a 45 minutes of gap is necessary. 


4)  Don't combine milk with citrus fruits like orange, guava, apple etc. Ripe apples and bananas combined with milk is good but if you don't feel comfortable or feel indigestion you have to add cinnamon, nutmeg or cardamom with milk to improve digestibility. 


5)  Don't combine milk with milk. If you are having breakfast , don't consume milk with it because milk is a great source of protein, so drinking milk separately is good for our health. 


6)  Don't add sugar to milk because combinations of milk and sugar lead to weight gain. Milk is naturally sweet due to the presence of lactose in it. Hence we need not to add any sugar in it.  However if required one can add jaggery or honey into milk.


Side effect of do not consuming milk in right way :- 


    If you don't consume milk in the right way you not only miss the benefit of milk but also we have to face the side effects such as indigestion, allergy and also it is dangerous for our kidneys. So drink milk at the right time to get proper  minerals, calcium and other vitamins.
